Purchase of two new barges. Ugland has signed an agreement with Dalian Shipyard in China for the acquirement of two new 300 x 90 x 20 ft barges.
Delivery date is scheduled for 15 May 2013 in Dalian. The two barges are expected to be towed to Europe to be ready for operation in the North Sea market late autumn 2013.
The barges are sisters of previously delivered barges from the same yard, but will be upgraded from 25t/m2 to 30t/m2 deck strength. Both barges will also be equipped with ballast water treatment system, which is new for this tonnage segment.
The barges will join the Ugland Barge Pool, increasing this fleet to 15 units, whereof 12 have a size of 300 x 90 ft.
