On 23 June 2014, Ugland Shipping AS signed a contract with Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Japan for the construction of two 63,000 dwt bulk carriers for delivery in 2017.
Currently JJUC has six bulkers on order, four of which have been contracted by UM Bulk AS, a joint venture between JJUC and Mitsubishi Corporation. Ugland Marine Services AS will be in charge of all management functions for the new vessels, to be delivered in the period from 2014 to 2017.
