Naming of newbuilding S-1323 - MV Olita – 1 March and Naming of newbuilding S-K095 - MV Livita – 3 March
Last week two newbuildings were named/delivered from Japanese yards to UM Bulk AS and Ugland Shipping AS respectively:
MV Olita was named in a ceremony at the Sanoyas Shipbuilding Corporation’s yard in Kurashiki. The Sponsor/Godmother being Olaug Boye Neset, who has worked at Ugland for 46 years and recently retired.
The vessel is an ultramax bulk carrier, 60,500 dwt, eco-design, and the first of two newbuildings ordered by UM Bulk AS from this shipyard.
The vessel has been chartered to Klaveness Chartering, Oslo.
The next newbuilding will be MV Belita, and is scheduled for delivery in July 2017.

MV Livita was named in a ceremony at Imabari’s yard at Shin Kasado close to Hiroshima. The Sponsor/Godmother being Jorun Ugland.
The vessel is an ultramax bulk carrier, 63,000 dwt, eco-design and the first of two newbuildings ordered by Ugland Shipping AS from this shipyard.
The vessel has been chartered to Oldendorff Carriers, Lübeck.
The next newbuilding from Imabari is scheduled for delivery in 2019.
