UGLEN IN LIFEBOAT DROP WORLD RECORD

Uglen involved in world record for highest freefall lifeboat drop

This spectacular lifeboat test drop took place on 13 August 2012 at Umoe Schat-Harding, near Rosendal on the west coast of Norway.  With Uglen's crane the FF1200 testboat was lifted 60 metres above the sea, from where it was successfully dropped, setting a World Record. Umoe Schat-Harding Equipment AS carried out comprehensive trim/list testing of their prototype FF1200, built according to new standards. One of the criteria for winning the contract was that Ugland Construction AS, a J.J. Ugland company, could deliver the technical solutions required for simulating realistic free fall tests.
